Boat
trip along the Chao Phraya River and the canals
of Thonburi on the east side of the river reveals
scenes at odds with the bustling, modern inner city.
This picturesque view is what earned Bangkok the
title of "Venice of the East.” |

Royal
Barges Museum, One of Thailand’s most spectacular
sights for visitors would have to be the flotilla
of Royal Barges carrying the Thai Royal Family elegantly
down the Chao Phraya River during traditional annual
celebrations. |

Wat
Arun (Temple of Dawn) Wat Arun is situated
on the west, or Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya
River. The most prominent structure, which stands
in the front, is the phra prang. This is a Khmer-style
chedi which is 81 meters high. All of these structures
are decorated with brightly colored pieces of porcelain.
